ACTTiVAte: Applying New Technology from a Different Sector

30 August, 2016 - 10:27

Oost NV has launched project ACTTiVAte (Pan-European Clusters for Technology Transfer and New Value Chains), which is a European-wide cooperative venture in order to promote cross-sector innovation across four different sectors: aerospace, agro-food, health and IT.
The primary target group of this project is small- and medium enterprises (SMEs) that are searching and developing technologies from other sectors and other countries.

One example of this practice is the application of remote-controlled aircraft systems, new lightweight materials and surface technologies from the aerospace industry being applied in the agro-food sector.

The ACTTiVAte project is making its start by getting the word out to companies, identifying promising technologies and potential value chains, and selecting promising areas for development. One of the methods used to is through sponsoring feasibility studies.
The project is planned to run until May 31, 2019, and includes parties from Spain, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands. The main coordination task is with the Madrid AeroSpace Cluster in Spain.
Horizon 2020 and the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel are financing this project.
